This talk offers a neurocognitive foundation for Attention-Weighted Utility (AWU) as a theory of situation sensitive choice echoing Chew and Ebstein's (2026) definition of intelligence as the ability to perceive situations generally, act appropriately, and choose among perceived options toward goals. The key premise is that the decision maker does not confront a fully specified menu in a situation, but first senses its affordances (Gibson, 1966), potentially useful stimuli under current objectives, and examines features and cues from the environment as well as identify options that may be present.

周恕弘教授是新加坡国立大学的荣休教授，西南财经大学首席教授及智慧经济科学研究中心主任，计量经济学会院士、经济学理论促进学会(SAET)院士(Fellow)，世界著名的决策理论学家、实验经济学家和行为经济学家，曾执教于美国亚利桑那大学、约翰·霍普金斯大学、加州大学尔湾分校、香港科技大学、新加坡国立大学。其在经济学以及其他学科期刊比如 Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies, Management Science, Economic Journal, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Economic Theory, Neuron, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences 等发表学术论文多篇。
